Text Messaging In RTS

Warning
Before you can use the Text Messaging feature in RTS, you will need to contact the RTS Sales Team to discuss any additional costs this feature may entail.

Turning On The Text Message Feature

  1. Navigate to Setup -> Communications -> Text Messaging.
  2. Check Enabled to turn on the feature.


Notes
In this window, you can test Text Messaging by inputting a phone number and selecting the "Send Test" button.
The options for text messaging that can be enabled are as follows:
  1. App - Order Ready: When an online concession order is marked as Ready in the Order Manager, a text will be sent to the customer.
  2. Order - Order Finished: When an order is marked as Finished on a Kitchen Pickup Viewer, a text will be sent to the customer.

Pickup Viewer Phone Number Settings

Before we go over how to add a phone number to an order, we will need to make sure that your Kitchen Pickup Viewer has the phone number settings configured.
  1. On your Pickup Viewer specifically, navigate to Setup -> Location Computer.
  2. Select the Order Routing tab.
  3. Enable "Show Phone Number".
  4. Press Save.


Your Pickup Viewer will now show the phone number attached to the order, and RTS will send the message when the Finish button is pressed.
For this example, the message will say: 
"Your order #620 is ready."



Adding A Phone Number To In-Person Orders

In order to be able to add a phone number to an order completed in-house, you will need to add the "Enter Phone" button to your Register Layout.
  1. Navigate to Setup → Register Layout.
  2. Select the desired station number from the Current Station drop-down menu.
  3. Replace any one of the buttons with "Enter Phone" using the drop-down menus.
  4. Click Save to apply the changes.

Notes
Tip: Use the "Save As" function to copy settings to multiple stations.
  1. Begin the transaction as normal.
  2. Before completing the transaction, select the "Enter Phone" button.
  3. Enter the phone number provided by the customer.

  1. The phone number will now be applied to the order and you can complete it as usual.

To enable Text Messaging for Online Food Orders, you will need to make sure your Pickup Methods have Enable Text Messaging turned on.



You will also need to have the Phone Number requested in a Pickup Questionnaire to be attached to the order.
