Credit Card Tipping Via Customer Facing Display

Tipping On Card Transactions Via The Customer Facing Display

RTS now allows you to use the Customer Facing Display to prompt the customer to add a Tip to the transaction.

For information related to setting up a Customer Facing Display/Secondary Display Monitor, please read this article: Configuring Customer Facing Display

This feature is only compatible with EMV (Secure) Card Readers.

Turning On Customer Facing Display Tipping

This function must be enabled on each individual system that you want to use it on and you will need to add default tip percentage amounts.

1). Navigate to Setup -> Local Computer

2). Select the Card Reader tab.

3). In the Misc Settings area of this window, select the drop-down menu for Tip Entry.
4). Select Prompt on Customer Display.

5.) Select the button for Tip Percentages.
Use this window to Enable and Customize the percentages used in the Tip window.

6). Click Save on the Tip Percentages window, then click Save on the Local Computer window.

Using The Customer Display Tipping Feature

Now that we have enabled the feature on the system, it will prompt for a tip once the employee selects "Pay Credit" during the sales process.

What The Employee Sees

What The Customer Sees

Once the customer selects a tip amount (or selects No Tip), they will need to select Confirm.
Selecting Custom will allow the customer to input a tip amount that differs from the suggested percentage amounts.
It will then proceed as a normal credit card transaction.
