Initial Setup for using the Verifone P400 pin pad through Global Canada & Datacap

Initial Setup for using the Verifone P400 pin pad through Global Canada & Datacap

The pin pad communicates with the terminal through a USB connection. The internet server must have NETePay installed and running for the pin pad to communicate with Datacap.

Necessary Installations:
  1. The latest Verifone driver ( to download: navigate to Datacap's download page and select Verifone under Device Drivers) installed on the terminal connected to the pin pad.
  2. The latest version of DSIEmvClientX - from the same downloads page under Client Controls. Make sure that Datacap's Verifone driver installation instructions are followed.
  3. Note that after the driver is installed properly, the device should appear on the machines Device Manager under Port as Mx Family POS Terminal.

Checklist:
  1. Install NETePay Director on the internet server - following Datacaps instructions and inputting the provided MID.
  2. Select Global Datacap as the assigned processor and Verifone P400 as the assigned device under the Card Reader tab within the Local Computer Setup window.
  3. Input the MerchantID for this terminal (given per number of 'lanes') in the card reader tab from the same Card Reader tab in Local Computer Setup.
  4. Select Global Datacap as the retail credit card processor in the Setup Credit Cards window.
  5. Configure credentials and input the MerchantID (none of the other fields on the form matter).
Global Datacap (Canada) Limitations:
  1. Doesn't allow PreAuths or ZeroAuths.
  2. Cannot swipe cards. Even though the readers will have the MSR, any swiped card will return a failed transaction and/or error.
  3. *Sometimes the first Interac (Canadian debit) transaction of the day fails - this is because of the sequence number syncing with the processor on the first failed transaction, any following transactions will work.
  4. Accepted card types: Visa and MasterCard credit cards, and Interac debit cards (no US debit cards accepted).
Notes:
  1. The Global Datacap CC Processor is for Retail only.
  2. If a location is newly onboarding and is going to use Global Datacap for Retail in RTS, they will need to set up GSAP Portico (separate account) as their Ecomm CC Processor.
  3. If a location is switching from using the retail cc processor Global_CA_EMV using a Castle device in RTS and they were not previously doing internet sales, they will need to set up GSAP Portico as their ecomm CC Processor.
  4. If a location is switching from using the retail cc processor Global_CA_EMV using a Castle device in RTS and they were previously doing internet sales, they don't need to change their ecomm cc processor.
