Credit Card Surcharges
The credit card surcharge feature allows for a percentage fee to be applied on top of retail transactions paid through credit/debit cards. It can be used to offset credit card processing costs and requires no input from the cashier to apply.
Enabling Credit Card Surcharging
In order to enable credit card surcharges, go to Setup -> Credit Cards and then go to the Other tab.
The Enabled checkbox will turn the setting on/off and the percentage section will determine the surcharge percentage.

Note: The surcharge amount will be determined by a transaction's grand total, including any fees and tax.

Warning: Credit card surcharges are only available on retail EMV accounts that use EMV card readers
as they require specific confirmation from the card reader. Non-EMV readers, such as swipe only readers
are not available for this feature. If the retail account being used is non-EMV, warning text will display in
the Other tab signaling this.
Percentage: Calculated using the grand total of the transaction, including tax and fee items.
Flat Rate: A flat amount that is added on top of the transaction.

Note: The Percentage and Flat Rate options can be used at the same time. The flat rate amount will not be included when calculating the percentage amount.
Once credit card surcharges have been enabled, customers will be prompted on the card reader to accept the surcharge. Selecting Yes on the reader will continue the transaction, while selecting No will cancel it.
Employees are also able to cancel a transaction by hitting the red Cancel button here:
When the credit card payment is initiated, but before it is completed, the subtotal will be updated with the credit card surcharge on the register and advertising display.
Once the payment has been processed, the register will update with the credit card item and amount.
